Dr. Layi Fatona

Chairman

With over 40 years in the oil industry, Dr. Layi Fatona, a Petroleum Geologist, has a distinguished history with SPDC and Geotrex Systems Limited. His impact extends to board roles at Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc. and former chairmanship at Skye Financial Services Limited. Advocating for increased Nigerian participation in the oil and gas industry, he is co-founder and pioneer CEO of Niger Delta Exploration and Production Plc, now Aradel Energy, and remains a significant force in the industry.

Mr. Tony Attah

Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer

Over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, providing top-quartile business leadership and bottom-line value delivery with a focus on People, Transformation, Change-Management, Health Safety & Environment (HSE), and Risk Management. Previously worked in Nigeria, Russia, and the Netherlands, growing to Senior Executive at Shell and C-Suite level, running a multibillion-dollar LNG business over the last five years.

Mr. Olusegun Banwo

Executive Director, EVP / Chief Financial Officer

Olusegun Olukayode Banwo is Executive Vice President and CFO of Renaissance. A Harvard MBA and First-Class Accounting graduate from the University of Lagos, he is a Fellow of ICAN and CITN with over 30 years' experience. He has held senior roles at Mobil Producing Nigeria and ExxonMobil, worked internationally with Halliburton and BCG, and served on the Boards of Mobil Producing Nigeria, Esso Exploration & Production Nigeria, and Citibank Nigeria.

Mr. Abdulrazaq Isa, OFR

Director

Over 30 years of professional experience in business, financial services, and the oil & gas industry. He specialises in strategy and enterprise transformation and has participated in several international negotiations for oil & gas asset acquisition, including Oil Block (EG-23). He oversaw the commencement of export operations from the Ibigwe field in 2008.

Mr. Ademola Adeyemi-Bero

Director

Over 30 years of professional experience with Shell, where he occupied significant roles in several countries, including Nigeria, the Netherlands, and the USA. Previously, the President of British Gas (BG) Nigeria, responsible for the Integrated Gas, Exploration & Production business.

Mr. Gbite Falade

Director

Over 25 years of professional experience and has led engagement teams in SPDC, Oando, and Ollserv. Has served in various senior executive capacities in the oil and gas, power, and services sectors, with lead roles in engineering, operations, and project management.

Mr. Aidan Heavey

Director

Aidan Heavey is the founder and former CEO of Tullow Oil, which he grew from a 1985 start-up in Senegal into one of Europe's leading independent oil and gas companies, reaching FTSE 100 status and a peak valuation of $20 billion. Under his leadership, Tullow expanded operations across four continents and made landmark discoveries in Ghana, Uganda, and Kenya. He is widely recognised for his corporate leadership, strategic vision, and commitment to sustainable energy and community development.

Ms. Titilola Omisore

Director

Titilola Omisore is Company Secretary and Group General Counsel of Aradel Holdings Plc, and a Director on the Boards of its subsidiaries and ND Western Limited. A lawyer with over 25 years of oil and gas expertise, she began her career at Strachan Partners, later becoming a Partner before joining Aradel in 2001. She has since led on acquisitions, joint ventures, equity raising, and other major transactions, and was appointed Company Secretary in 2004.

Dr. Tajuddeen Umar

Director

Dr. Tajuddeen Umar is a Petroleum Geologist with some 40 years' experience in the oil and gas industry. He held several positions in the public and private sectors ranging from purely technical to management and executive. The last position held by Dr. Umar in the public sector was that of the Executive Chairman, Nigeria – Sao Tome and Principe Joint Development Authority. He also doubled as the Executive Director, Monitoring and Inspections of the same organization while serving as Chairman. He is presently an independent oil and gas consultant with business interests in various sectors of the economy, specifically the Bank Note Industry. Dr. Umar served 3 terms on the Board of the NNPC from 2016 to 2023. He is currently on the Board of Walter Smith Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd. He also works as an independent oil and gas consultant through two personally owned companies.

Mr. Osagie Okunbor

Director

Osagie Okunbor is one o-f Nigeria's most respected energy industry leaders, with nearly four decades of experience at Shell. He served as Managing Director of The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) and Country Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria, where he led major strategic initiatives, including the successful SPDC divestment and the advancement of Nigerian Content across the oil and gas value chain. A champion of indigenous capacity development and stakeholder collaboration, he has also served as Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) and received numerous national and international awards for leadership, corporate governance, and contributions to the energy industry.

Mrs. Beatrice Spaine

Director

Beatrice Spaine is a seasoned upstream petroleum industry executive with over 30 years of experience delivering technical, strategic, operational and commercial value from assets located in onshore, shallow and deep offshore terrains. She has extensive governance experience, having served on the boards of Shell Nigeria entities, including the Shell closed pension fund administrator. Her expertise spans Subsurface Engineering, Audit, Business Strategy, Planning and Value Assurance. She has led development of mega-projects in deepwater Nigeria, and business planning and technology strategy across Sub-Saharan Africa, working closely with boards, regulators, venture partners and executive leadership. A chemical engineer with executive education from IMD Lausanne and Shell academies, Beatrice combines commercial acumen with strong governance credentials, a commitment to operational excellence, and a proven ability to guide sustainable growth, value creation in complex, highly regulated environments.

Mrs. Taba Peterside

Director

Taba Peterside is a financial services professional with over 35 years' experience in banking, capital markets, and financial sector regulation, research and development. As Head of Listings at The Nigerian Exchange, she initiated the listing of several major companies. Her career also includes senior positions at Stanbic IBTC, Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation and the International Finance Corporation. She is the founder and CEO of Waveline Growth Partners, a microfinance lender. Mrs Peterside has established solid governance credentials through serving on various private sector and NGO boards. Among other professional affiliations, she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria.

Mr. Ikechukwu Ekwueme

Company Secretary

Ikechukwu (“Ike”) Ekwueme is the Company Secretary of Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited and a lawyer with over 25 years' experience. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1998, he spent over two decades at Shell, holding senior roles in Kazakhstan and Sub-Saharan Africa. His expertise spans joint ventures, LNG governance, EPC contracts, M&A, corporate governance, compliance, and energy transition.
